About

Scenic Rivers Farm & Forest Consulting was born from a passion to help people fulfill their goal to care for, manage, and utilize their natural resources for their economic and recreational benefit and enjoyment.

Michael Gaskins has a desire to help farmers, 2014-04-22_08-55-22_278landowners, and you experience your dreams for your property. As a boy, Michael would much rather have been playing in the woods, walking fence rows with grandpa’s old 410 under arm, or twitching a grass-frog past a lilly pad, than about anything else.

He’s always loved the woods, being on his great-uncle’s farm, the outdoors and creating things with his hands. Once, in college, He remembered a forestry professor talking about forest management being a good mix of science and art, and it just clicked with him, He enjoys this work, because it is part of who he is, appreciating the art and science of the way this world was made.

God has blessed him with the responsibility of being a husband, father, and landowner, He enjoys sharing this passion and life of stewardship with his family. He also receives a lot of satisfaction in sharing management knowledge and management experiences with lots of other people. He loves to learn, teach, and do.

Through hard work and study, He has the opportunity to channel his childhood dreams of hunting, fishing, farming, and loving everyday, into a service that helps you live your dream.

His expectation for Scenic Rivers Farm & Forest Consulting LLC, is that they be able to use important technical skill, experience, and a desire to serve you and your resource, providing a value for farmers, landowners, and you.

Isaiah 55:12-13 ESV

“For you shall go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
    shall break forth into singing,
    and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
    instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall make a name for the Lord,
    an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
